June 2026: nobody home

Not much reached this desk this month, and what did is set down below.

From our correspondents in Aldoria · June 2026

The forest ruin north of town, from the files.

Nothing to print for this stretch. Either nobody was in, or nothing reached this desk. The next edition will be fuller.

The almanac

The moon: full moon, the swamps at their liveliest; slimes everywhere the ground is low.

The day: twenty minutes, sunrise at the first tick, as it has always been.

The season: midsummer, by the calendar; by the crops, the same as ever.

High water at the ford: whenever the Cleric is crossing.

The crafting corner: the torch

Coal above a stick. The other recipe nobody makes after the first week, because by then there are chests of them.

Advice to the newly spawned

Fish where nobody is fishing. The fish are not there either, but at least it is quiet.

The back page

Letters answered

Sir, what is the difference between a village and a town?

A bell. A village with a bell is a town until somebody rings it, at which point it is a village again, indoors.

— A Cartographer, drawing lines

Public safety

Gravel is not a floor. It is a floor that has not finished falling.

Residents are reminded that a pillager outpost is not a viewpoint, however good the view.

— The watch

Nobody was on this month, so there is nothing to report.— The editor
