Mentors

Mentors are players who like showing newcomers around: where things are, how claims work, where the good fishing is. Picking one is free, it's always your choice, and you can stop any time.

How it works

Step 1
Pick someone who's free
Choose from the list, or say yes when a mentor offers in game. Nobody is assigned to you.
Step 2
Play together for a couple of weeks
Your mentor sees which first steps you've reached, and when you're online unless you've hidden that. You can message them any time.
Step 3
Say thanks if you'd like
After a few days you might be asked whether it helped. A yes sends them a thank-you; anything else stays with staff. You can skip it.

Who's mentoring

The first mentors are still signing up. Staff are glad to help in the meantime: say hi in chat, or open the Server Guide with /help.

Mentors help as players

They volunteer their time, and what a mentor says is never a staff decision, even when they're on staff. Something feels wrong? End it in Away and pick "End and tell staff", use /report in game, or message a staff member.
