The Florist's Bench
Arrange flowers
Grow the stems, then make something of them. 5 arrangements in 6 colours: lay flowers of one colour for that colour, or mix them for a meadow. No menu, just the bench and your hands.
Set down the bench
Two flower pots over a row of planks on two sticks. Put it at home or in your claim.
Lay the stems
Right-click the bench with a flower, one stem at a time. They fan out on the top so you can see the bunch.
Choose the shape
Paper makes a bouquet, a decorated pot a vase, a vine a wreath, a candle a centerpiece and a trapdoor a window box.
Tie it
When the count is right, tie it with shears. Sneak with an empty hand to take the last thing back.
The herb garden
Herbs, steeped and ground
Every herb dries on the rack into a herb bundle for stocks and roasts. Fresh from the bed, they also steep into four garden teas at the pot, or grind into a pesto or a garlic rub at the prep table.
Garden Mint Tea
Fresh mint or lemon balm, steeped until the bottle fogs.
Garden Green Tea
Leaves from your own tea bush, picked young and steeped light.
Fennel and Lemongrass Tea
Sweet fennel, lemongrass, caraway or hops: a settling cup after supper.
Sage and Thyme Tea
Woody garden herbs steeped strong, for a sore throat and a cold walk home.
Garden Pesto
Soft green herbs pounded to a bright paste.
Garlic and Herb Rub
Garlic, horseradish and the sharp herbs, crushed for the roasting tin.
Frames, honey and wax
Keep bees
Plant honey flowers beside a hive and the honey takes their name. Add frames and each cycle gives more: bottles of honey, or honeycomb for the chandlery. The grower's journal keeps a page of what each hive has given you.
Frame the hive
Five sticks make a frame. Set up to three in a placed hive; an empty hand reads the hive, and sneaking with one lifts a frame out.
Smoke it, then choose
With a lit campfire beneath a full hive, a stack of glass bottles takes one more bottle for every frame; shears take two more honeycomb for every frame, up to nine.
Wax is stock
Honeycomb melts into beeswax cakes at the chandlery: candles, polish, waxed thread, oiled leather and more.
