Post office and kitchen
Two small shifts in spawn town pay for work you do with your hands. Both pay money for each finished piece, and the pay is steady rather than tied to levels. Both open when the spawn building is finished; until then the counters are set up by staff only.
Post office
Letters you send to another player in game are held at the post office until a worker sorts them. If nobody does within about five minutes, the postal service delivers the letter itself, marked "Handled by the postal service." A worker's letters carry "Routed by" and their name.
On a shift:
- Pick up a bundle of up to eight letters from the lectern.
- Pick envelopes up, three at a time, and drop them in the matching rack: harbor, market, orchard or chapel.
- Release them from the perch. The letter reaches its player only then.
A wrong rack hands the envelope back and tells you the right district, so nothing is lost. Carrying envelopes for one district fills a trip faster. You never get your own mail or mail addressed to you. If you leave, the letters you have not released go back to the queue.
When the queue is empty you get a practice shift with invented parcels. It pays nothing and moves no mail.
The postal clerk stands beside the sorting table. The clerk isn't a player: its sign says who is on shift right now, or that the postal service is delivering because nobody is. Click the clerk to hear how long letters take and how many are waiting to be sorted. When the service delivers letters nobody sorted, its pigeon leaves the perch with an "Aurelune Post" label.
Pay: 0.40 money for each delivered letter, up to 24 in a round. Short letters, or repeated mail between the same two players, do not count. The rate may change.
Bakery and tavern
At the counter, right-click to see the order board. Players, and a few house regulars who are clearly named, order dishes from the menu: loaves, a pastry, a tart, a stew, two teas and a cordial.
- Take a ticket. Your tray holds three.
- Cook the dish at your own oven, pot or prep board.
- Serve it over the counter.
You can batch tickets that share ingredients. Serving without the dish, or to a customer who is away or has a full pack, takes nothing and says why. A ticket you leave idle for five minutes goes back on the board, and orders expire after about twelve minutes. You cannot serve your own order, and several cooks can split the board.
Pay: 1.50 money for each ticket served. A pair of players earns on at most two tickets a day. The rate may change. See Jobs for the other ways to earn.
Pigeon post
Letters from the website, Discord or other players bring a pigeon. It glides in, lands beside you with a label only you can read, and leaves. If you were away, you get one line about waiting letters and one pigeon, however many came. Read them in Away, under Messages.
Send a letter while standing near the post office perch and a pigeon takes it off for you, with a label only you can read. /quiet turns the birds off; the letter still arrives. There is never a crowd of pigeons: only a few can be in the air at once.
