Screens and menus

Aurelune's menus are meant to feel like part of Minecraft, not like a plugin screen laid over it. Most open as a chest-shaped screen you click, with a full picture behind the slots.

The pack matters

The pictures behind menus, the small icons and most sounds come from the Aurelune resource pack. Accept it when the server asks and menus look the way they are meant to.

Opening things

  • /menu opens the server menu, a starting point for the rest.
  • Most systems have their own command: /recipes, /traits, /legends, /museum, /map and so on. The commands page lists them.
  • Land, warps, the market, bounties, quest boards, stations, trading, jobs, graves and the barn all use the same screen style, with the same back button.
  • Some questions open a small native form instead, with text boxes, switches and choices. Answer it and press submit. It belongs to you alone and goes away after a few minutes.
  • A screen that asks "are you sure" has a big green Yes and a red No.

Books you read

Some things come as a written book instead of a chest. Click the lines in them to follow along.

  • /itemguide <name> opens a book for any custom item: its recipe at each station, where its ingredients come from, a shopping list and what else uses it. Click an ingredient to open its own book. Hold an item and run /itemguide with no name to look up that item. The website's item pages show the same answers.
  • /hints is your guide to the little tips Aldoria shows the first time you meet something. Click any tip to read it again. /hints off stops new tips appearing; /hints on brings them back. The guide stays either way.
  • /recipes and /traits open as chest books. Versions you aim at with your head and click are being tested and are not switched on for everyone yet.

Some menus can be drawn on your screen and chosen by looking and clicking. They are off by default, so every menu opens as the normal chest screen. If you would like to try them:

  • /canvas check shows five coloured bars in front of you and asks whether solid blocks appear along the top of your screen. Click the answer that matches.
  • /canvas aim on switches aimed menus on for you and /canvas aim off goes back to chest menus. If a screen ever opens and you cannot see it, sneak to close it, walk a few steps, or run /canvas free.
  • Aimed menus need Minecraft 26.2 or newer; older clients keep the chest menus.
  • Shader packs (Iris, Complementary, OptiFine shaders) replace the game's own shaders and stop aimed menus from drawing at all. Turn them off to use aimed menus.
  • /canvas status tells you what you are getting.

Scenes

Now and then a short camera scene plays, such as a moment in a story or a boss waking. Sneak or type /scene skip to leave one early. Scenes that can't be skipped say so.

Comfort

  • /quiet on mutes feature sounds and effects. See Sound and quiet.
  • /audio lowers ambience, music or stations without silencing everything.
  • Bedrock players get ordinary chest menus wherever a screen would otherwise need your head to aim it.
