Heads
Decorative heads make building a lot easier: a little chest on a shelf, a cake on the table, a pumpkin by the door, arrows pointing the way. There are over 32,000 to choose from, from animals and monsters to furniture, letters and whole sets of characters. Type /heads to pick one, and pay for it with bones.
Get a head
- Type
/heads. You'll see the ten categories: Animals, Monsters, People, Characters, Plants, Food and drinks, Blocks, Decoration, Letters and numbers, and Miscellaneous. All heads shows everything at once. - Click a category to see its collections (a font, a set of characters, a kind of furniture), biggest first, or pick Every head in that category. Click a collection, then click the head you want. Long lists have arrows that jump ten pages at a time, and Back takes you up a level.
- Pick how many: 1, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64. The screen shows what it costs and how many bones you have.
- Click Confirm. The bones go and the heads land in your inventory in the same moment.
To search, type a word after the command: /heads cake, /heads arrow, /heads nether. Every word you type has to match, so /heads arrow up narrows /heads arrow down to the arrows pointing up.
What it costs
One plain bone per head. Skeletons drop bones, and the market sells them.
- Only plain bones count. A renamed bone, or a special item made from a bone, is never taken.
- Bones in your backpack, armour slots or off hand don't count. Keep them in your inventory.
- If there isn't room for the heads, nothing happens and no bones are taken. Make some space and try again.
Good to know
- Heads are for decorating. They place like any player head and keep their look and name when you break them again.
- They can't be worn. Decorative heads go on walls and shelves, not on your head, so the helmet slot,
/hatand armour stands all say no. - A decorative head isn't a trophy. It doesn't count towards achievements, and it doesn't prove you beat anything.
- You can trade, sell or give heads away like any other item.
